Paragliding in the Bavarian Alps

Paragliding in the Bavarian Alps

Today we took an hour long train ride to the beautiful town of Lenggries, Germany. Lenggries is a picturesque area surrounded by the Bavarian Alps. After arriving in Lenggries, our group met with our paragliding instructors from the company Paraworth and we embarked on a breathtaking journey on cable cars that took us far up the mountain to a snow-covered ski area. We then suited up in snow suits as our instructors prepared the parachutes. They gave us instructions to begin running as fast as we could through the snow. On the count of three I trudged through the knee deep snow with my instructor and before I knew it we were flying! We spent 15 minutes gliding through the air over snow-capped mountains, lakes, and endless green forests. I even got to see the Austrian Alps in the distance. My instructor ended my paragliding trip with some acrobatics that consisted of quick turns and flips. The acrobatics were incredible – comparable to a rollercoaster in the air. The whole trip was an absolutely breathtaking, once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will remember forever.
