Step Into the Glow: Madrid’s Light Museum Lets You Feel the Neon

An experience so immersive that you’ll leave thinking you have superpowers, Museo De La Luz offers its visitors a unique look into art in another dimension.

Holding a beam of light in your hands feels like something out of another world. With each uniquely lit room, it’s as if you’re boarding a rocket ship to a new planet, one moment stepping into a kaleidoscopic chamber of optical illusions, the next (as pictured above) immersed in a silent, rave-like space where laser beams slice through the air in every direction. I was completely awestruck by how close this magic felt. It was just inches from my eyes, yet I was still in the heart of Madrid, not orbiting some distant galaxy.

As it turns out, escaping to another planet doesn’t require a spaceship, just a 15 Euro ticket to the Light Museum in Madrid. Ever since, I’ve been craving the rush of radiant beams and the wonder of walking through pure, pigmented light.
