Study Away in Madrid 2025
The CIC Study Abroad program in Barcelona has been so successful, we had to find a way to include more students, so we created an identical program in Madrid, Spain! Same classes. Same four weeks in June, but different faculty and staff.
This inaugural year, 33 students from the College of Information and Communications at the University of South Carolina have embarked on a transformative journey to Spain’s capital city of Madrid. Faculty members Scott Farrand and Mónica Colón-Aguirre will lead the students in exploring international communications and creating multimedia projects that showcase Madrid’s diverse food, architecture and culture. During their four-week stay in Spain, the class will also take a four-day trip to Lisbon, Portugal, to deepen their understanding of global communications through hands-on experiences.
Guided by their ambitions to explore, the students will seek to find and capture a glimpse of the little know travel sites and cultural differences within the two cities. Follow their journey and discoveries here!
